Acaulous procumbent perennial, with a thick woody much branched rootstock. Leaves with 6-15 pairs of leaflets, 3-7 cm long including petiole shorter than rachis; leaflets oblong-ovate to narrow oblong-elliptic with a thin indumentum of long spreading hairs, 3-10 x 1,5-4 mm. Scapes ascending-erect, 7-14 cm. Inflorescence capitate, ± dense, 4-10-flowered, not elongating in fruit. Bracts conspicuous, 5-13 x 1,5-3 mm. Calyx 9-12 mm, teeth much shorter than tube, with short adpressed hairs. Corolla white, pale- or violet-blue; standard 17-21 mm; wings 12-14 mm; keel 11-12 mm including a very short c. 0,5 mm beak. Legume subsessile, ovate-oblong, curved, c. 20 mm, with short ± adpressed hairs. Fl 7-8. Alpine meadows, 2100-2900 m.
