Shrub, 1-2 m, silky-hairy. Stipules entire, apiculate. Leaflets ± entire, varying in size, normally 10-18 x 5-8 mm, obovate to ovate, some truncate. Peduncles with many crowded flowers, often longer than corresponding petiole. Flowers 12-15 mm, orange-yellow. Calyx teeth shorter than tube. Corolla more than 2 x calyx. Fruit a flat open spiral of ½-1 ½ coils, with short adpressed hairs, 10-15 mm diam.; on surface of coil a great number of radial veins anastomose on its outer half. Fl. Spring. Limestone hills and rocks .
