Dwarf scapose perennial with branched woody caudex. Leaves 5-14 cm; leaflets 5-10 mm, oblong, adpressed simple-canescent, 15-35-paired; stipules c. 10 mm, triangular-Ianceolate. Peduncles 8-15 cm. Inflorescence an ovoid, 15-25-flowered spike. Bracts 5-7 mm, linear, Calyx 12-14 mm, tubular, sparsely villous; teeth 4-6 mm, linear. Corolla crimson to purple; standard 16-18 mm. Legume c.8 mm, ovate-Ianceolate flattened, densely villous; beak c.4 mm, curved. Fl. 5-7.Calcareous slopes, screes, 600-1520 m.
