Ascending or erect, scapose perennial with a woody base. Leaves 7-12 cm; leaflets 8-12 mm, broadly elliptic to obovate, bifurcate-sericeous, 5-9-paired; stipules c. 4 mm, broadly triangular. Peduncles 4-10 cm. Inflorescence a lax, ovate to cylindrical, 12-35-flowered raceme, elongating in fruit; flowers shortly pedicellate. Bracts c. 2 mm, lanceolate. Calyx 6-8 mm, tubular-campanulate, sparsely adpressed black and white bifurcate-hairy; teeth c. 2 mm, triangular to lanceolate. Corolla pale yellow ; standard 16-24 mm. Legume 8-10 xc. 4 mm, ovoid, sparsely short white adpressed bifurcate-hairy, erecto-patent to erect; beak 4-6 mm, oblique. Fl. 5-6. Steppe, fields, etc., 1100-2100 m.
