Stems minutely glandular, usually also hairy at least at the nodes, sometimes glaucous, rarely sparsely punctate. Leaves broadly ovate-cordate, 3-14 x 3-15 cm, shallowly to deeply 5-7-lobed, the lobes ovate to triangular to elliptic, usually ± sinuate-toothed or lobulate. Petioles almost glabrous to densely crisped-hairy, often glandular, sometimes spiculate, 1,5-10 cm. Male racemes 8-22 cm, sparsely to densely glandular, sometimes also rather sparselyfinely hairy; sepals triangularlanceolate or subulate, 1-2 mm; petals 3,5-7 x 2,5-3,5 mm. Female racemes usually shorter and denser, sometimes congested; sepals subulate, 1-2,5 mm, petals 2-5 x 0,8-2,5 mm. Stigmas prominent, coarsely hairy. Fruits bright red, 7-10 mm. Seeds 6-6,5 x 4-4,5 x 2-2,5 mm. Fl. 4-7. Rocky places on basic rocks, 700-2300 m.
