Perennial with a woody rhizome, glabrous, caespitose, stems many, 3-20 cm. Leaves mostly imbricate at base, linear, 1-10 cm x 1-1,5 mm, acute, with finely papillose margins. Bracts lanceolate-acuminate, scarious. lnflorescence 3-15-flowered, lax or ± congested. Pedicels 3-15 mm. Calyx campanulate, 4-5 mm, teeth ovate, obtuse, apiculate. Petals white to pink, 8-10 mm, oblanceolate, shallowly emarginate. Fl. 7-8. Rocks, rocky slopes, alpine meadows, 1600-2700 m.
