Annual. Stems erect, branched, glabrous. Leaves oblong to oblanceolate, 1-nerved, acute. Bracts not enclosing the calyx. Calyx 2,5-5,5 mm, glabrous, costae 1-veined; teeth acute to obtuse and mucronate. Petals white, entire, 3-6 mm. Seeds 0,7-1,2 x 0·4-0·9 mm, reticulate-tuberculate. 2 subspecies may be recognised:
