Perennial, 45-65 cm, stems narrowly winged below. Leaves ovate, oblong-lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate; lower with long winged petioles, uppermost sessile or shortly decurrent. Flowers c. 15. Calyx 6-7 mm, accrescent to 13 mm in fruit, divided almost to middle, lobes lanceolate, acute. Corolla cream, 10 mm; scales 5·5 mm, triangular-lanceolate, exserted for 1 mm; stamens shorter than scales, shortly exserted. Nutlets 2 mm, erect, areolate, tuberculate. FI. 4-6. Shady places, nr. s.l.
