Hispid-setose annual. Stems 10-60 cm. Leaves oblong-lanceolate to linear-lanceolate, entire or weakly repandate, 2-7 x 0.8-2.5 cm; cauline semiamplexicaul. Calyx 6-10 mm, divided to c. ½ , lobes narrowly triangular; fruiting calyx 10-15 mm. Corolla yellow, 11-18 mm, limb erecto-patent, ½ - 1/3  x tube, c. 10 mm diam.; scales shortly hairy; annulus hairy. Anthers 1.5-2 mm. Nutlets 4, erect, oblong-ellipsoid, 3.5-6 x 2 mm, puberulent, brown with white flecks, longitudinally ribbed, basal ring smooth, Fl. 4-6. Field margins, rocky slopes, c. 500 m.
