Scapes 45-60 cm, white-tomentose. Leaves 7-10 x 4,5-6 cm on 6-12 cm petioles, acute at apex, ±obliquely cordate at base, entire, subglabrous above, whit-tomentose beneath. Involucre 3-4 cm broad; phyllaries oblong-lanceolate, whitish-tomentose, apices acumibate, purplish. Receptacular paleae c. 2,5 mm long, fimbriate. Flowers carmine, basal tubes 1-1,3 cm, ligules of marginal flowers c. 10 x 2 mm, lips of inner flowers c. 7 x 2,25 mm. Achenes 5-6 m. Pappus c. 1,5 cm, white. Fl. 8. Amongst shrubs.
