Stems 3-12 cm, with rigid, procumbent or ascending branches. Leaves 8-14 x 1-1,5 mm, filiform-subulate, patent, shiny green above, greyishlanate beneath, longer than clusters of capitula. Capitula 2,5-4 x c. 2 mm, subglobose to cylindrical. Paleae 2-3 x c. 1,4 mm, ferrugineous or stramineous, ovate to ovate-lanceolate, acuminate. Hermaphrodite flowers 1,4 mm, yellowish-orange above. Achenes 0,8 x 0,3 mm, ovoid, slightly compressed, glabrous, olive-green. Fl. 5-6. Sandy places.
