Perennial with woody base, stem erect, 20-45 cm, simple or rarely with one branch in upper part, thickened below capitula, with fibrous remains of petioles at base. Leaves sparsely hirsute with septate hairs; basal and lower to median long-petiolate, pinnatipartite with numerous linear-lanceolate lateral segments, segments 2-5 mm broad, entire or with single lobe near base; upper similar with broader rachis and fewer segments or narrowly lanceolate. Involucre 25-38 x 25-45 mm, nearly globose. Appendages small, brown, triangular, spreading or reflexed, with 2-3 cilia on each side, ending in a 3-5 mm spinule. Flowers yellow, marginal not radiant. Achenes 5,5-7,7 mm; pappus 7,5-8,5 mm, brown, inner row 1,5 mm. Fl. 7-8. Rocky mountain slopes, 1700-2135 m.
Endemic to Anti-Taurus and Amanos mts.
