Leaves 5-6, longer than scape, outer one 14-17 mm broad, margin glaucous, shortly ciliate. Scapes 1-2, to 30 cm. Raceme ellipsoid to cylindrical, axis violet. Pedicels c. as long as perianth, soon elongating, patent at first then arcuate, violet. Flower buds greenish-white with purplish tinge. Perianth greenish-white, violet towards base, becoming pale grey-brown, 9-11 mm, tubular-campanulate, lobes c. 1/2 X tube. Fruiting raceme cylindrical; pedicels to 2 cm, arcuate. Valves of capsule 12-13 x 9-10 mm, suborbicular or broadly ovate, retuse. 2n = 16. Fl. 5. Steep, loose slopes.
