Deciduous tree up to 7 m, with a dense, subglobose crown. Leaves imparipinnate; leaflets 2-5-paired, ovate-oblong or lanceolate, 2,5-8 x 0,8-2,2 cm, obtuse, not mucronate, dark green above, paler beneath, glabrous except for ciliolate margin; rachis narrowly winged. Fruits paniculate, as long as or longer than broad, 5-8 x 5-6 mm. FI. 3-4. Dry hillsides, cemeteries, edge offields, road sides, s.l.-1500 m.

Canaries, N. Africa, Greece, Aegean, Cyprus, Palestine, Syrian Desert, Crimea, Caucasia, Iran, Afghanistan, W. Pakistan.
