Bulb ovoid, 1-2 cm diam.; outer tunics papyraceous, densely striate. Stem 25-40 cm. Leaves 2-3, filiform, 0.5-1 mm broad, ± convolute, sheathing lower half of stem. Valves of spathe unequal, linear at base, narrowed above into a long, slender appendage, many times longer than umbel. Umbel ± fastigiate or fastigiate-hemispherical, more rarely almost spherical, 2-3 cm diam., 5-20-flowered, fairly dense. Pedicels 5-10 mm, subequal, slightly shorter than or 1.5-2 x as long as perianth. Perianth narrowly campanulate; segments pale pink or dirty pink to off white with a pink, purple or green midvein, oblong-elliptic, 5-6 mm, obtuse, apiculate, not shiny. Stamens included or scarcely exserted. Ovary 2-3 x as long as broad. Capsule 4-4.5 mm. Fl. 7-10. Corylus scrub, rocky and stony ledges and slopes, sometimes in partial shade, 760-2000 m.
