Bulb broadly ovoid, 1.5-2.5 cm. Stem 20-30 cm. Leaves 1-3, broadly linear, 8-15 mm broad, acute, papillose-scabrid at margin, as long as or longer than stem. Spathe 1,5-3 cm, 3-lobed, often flushed purple. Umbel fastigiate, hemispherical or spherical in fruit, 5-15 cm diam., many-flowered. Pedicels 3,5-7 cm, unequal Perianth narrowly campanulate, sweetly scented; segments pale pink to deep mauve or lilac-pink, lanceolate, 9-14 mm, somewhat obtuse, finally limp. Filaments red or blackish-purple, abruptly attenuate from a broadly triangular-ovate base. Anthers purple. Capsule 6-8 mm. Fl. 4-5. Rocks, heavy clayey non-lime and basaltic soil, cornfields, cultivated land, vineyards, 550-4150 m.
